Conservatory Roof Blind Cleaning / Service

If you have conservatory roof blinds installed, you likely know of the annual gathering of bugs and insects that goes of behind the scenes. Our roof blind service allows us to drop the blinds from the roof and use a vacuum to remove the dead insects, cobwebs and dust. We also clean the blind strings and tighten the blinds should the need it.

How To Prevent Mould In Your Conservatory or Glass Roof...

Mould is very common in conservatories and glass rooms, this is due to the relatively high humidity within the room and lack of roof insulation. Condensation forms when warm, moist air comes into contact with a cooler surface, causing the water vapor in the air to change from a gas to a liquid.

We are regularly asked what's the best way to reduce mould growth. Our answer is to allow the room to ventilate and breath when the weather is dry, this can be achieved by opening small windows to the first safety catch at opposite ends of the room. If however the weather is particularly wet, a dehumidifier would be the best course of action. We don't recommend the smaller window sill units as sold on Amazon. We recommend at least an 8 liter per day removal dehumidifier with an automatic run function. This will greatly reduce both the damp and humidity in the room, slowing down and preventing mould growth.

If you have conservatory roof blinds installed we recommend opening them to approximately ⅔. This allows more air to flow around the blinds. Condensation will still form at the lower end of each panel however and will likely lead to mould growth on the conservatory and the blind fabric. We can apply a "waterproof" coating to the blinds if less that 3 years old. This helps prevent mould from staining the fabric but also prevents bug stains.

Simply excellent service by Tom. After using an excuse of a company previously I am pleased to say Tom has rectified an issue caused by said previous company and has carried out the work to a very high standard.

Thought price was a little expensive when obtaining a quotation compared to my window cleaner. Tom did however carry out a very indepth clean and the orangery looks fantastic.
